Still in Brabant and we don’t know what to do. Looking up at the net and finally we found an idea which will make our little holiday memorable.
We thought of why not try driving a vintage car that is an original of the Netherlands. Its the Daf 33.
What to expect: Starting the car would be a bit tricky, because it either goes forward or backward without any control. It does not have any fan or heater, so it’s either very cold or too hot when driving. Before we are able to reverse, you have to turn off the engine. And… expect that people around you will be staring at you and at the car at all times because it is the famous Daf 33 of the Netherlands.
The drive was amazing, we were given a map where we can see some great places in Brabant. It was very fun to do. I also got the chance to see the Daf 33 and the Solex (motorized bicycle) collection that the owner have and for rent. It is really cool!

After the month vacation in the Philippines, the next months means only non-stop working for 6 months and to add some little road trips we made. I am just glad that I can still somehow get a 2 week vacation after getting a 4 week vacation earlier. I told my bf that we needed to relax from all the workload and at least get somewhere where I still haven’t been to.
We searched and searched until we ended up to the place where his dad recommended, and that was Landal Het Vennenbos in Noord- Brabant. Since I told my bf that I haven’t been to that part of the Netherlands, we decided to go there. It’s only like 2 hours travel from our place to Noord-Brabant with the car. There’s not much changed because of course we are still in Holland.
Upon arriving, the first impression that the place gave me was that we are going to stay literally in a forest. The house is in the forest, this is the place where I saw lots of mushrooms and squirrels. The house where we stayed is fully furnished. Complete with sofa’s, tv, kitchen and utensils, 2 bedrooms, fireplace, a bathtub and we got a balcony with a view of the little creek full of ducks and birds.
Landal Het Vennenbos is what they called “Centerparks” where families go for vacation. Their facilities includes: swimming pool with waterslides and jacuzzi, tanning bed, mini golf, bowling, biking, restaurants and many other more. There are lots of houses or appartments and the size depends on how many people are going to stay. You will still feel like you are in you’re at home because you still have to do your own chores even putting the bed sheet and pillow covers. Bed is comfortable, I can say that I did really slept good at that place and I made most of the time home cooked meals. Regarding privacy and noise, you would not even notice other people staying beside you. The place is quiet for the month of October. Im well rested for a week! 🙂

Oculus Rift Development Kit
To be honest: I only used the Oculus Rift for roughly 5 mins. I tried the roller coaster sample and as I may say, I felt like I was really in a roller coaster hence im sitting on an office chair connected to a butt kicker. Oculus Rift is kinda big but it is comfortable to wear since you can adjust on how tight you would like the Oculus Rift to hold in your head. So, wearing the glass gives you a 2 sided view, like for each eye. It is cool that when you move your head around, the surrounding gives a 360 view of where you are looking into. It doesn’t matter if you stand or sit, it just works. It makes you feel like you are actually in the game.
The graphics, well it can be better. I think they still need to polish the graphics more because for me it looks a bit rough but I think more upgrades will come soon!
The only thing that I don’t like about the Oculus Rift: After the 5 mins of use, I felt like vomitting. Im nauseated, I guess my eyes are not yet ready for the virtual reality gaming. But with this invention, I think it will be a hit in the near future to those who love gadgets and wants to experience the virtual reality world.

This is the life!
Dutch summer: Well we mostly go to the beach and go sunbathing. Water is cold at the beach, at least 18-25 degrees but others can tolerate the temperature. With hot temperatures we definitely eat ice creams and do some barbecue. Our kind of summer is staying at the yacht. We use the boat as a caravan! Sleep there, read a book, eat and mostly do nothing. We also have this little boat where we use to go around the harbor, I love doing that! 2 summers in a year this year (Philippine summer and Holland summer) yay!
