France: St. Brieuc

Since we deprived ourselves to big cities in France for almost a week, we kinda craved of the city feeling. We decided to go to St. Brieuc which is an hour drive from our place of stay which is in Trelevern.

Arriving at the city center, you can really say that you are in a big city. There are more people and lots of buildings to see. To be honest, we did not find St. Brieuc that much amazing. It is a nice little side trip when you want to have a city feeling after a week of country side (at least for us)

Some of the shops are closed during our visit, but we were glad to be able to roam around St. Brieuc for a change.

You will find:

Nice shopping places.

Churches

And we went center where we ate our lunch and they were all friendly.

France: Reserve Naturelle des Sept Iles

Since we are staying for a week in Bretagne, France and we have enough time to do side trips. We decided to finally try the very known boat trip that is given in the region. We first planned when to go since you have to or at least have a ticket reservation for the said trip.

It was a cold, sunny and somehow raining hail day. But we still decided to go on top of the boat so we can get a full view of the islands that we are going to visit. The trip consists of visiting the 7 islands around Brittany. The only thing that made me a bit annoyed  that the tour was spoken in French, so we have no idea on what the tour guide was talking about. The tour guide did not even bother that there are lots of non-French speakers during the tour, but we grasp on what we can somehow understand by making connection on what he says on the surroundings.

As we sailed our way to the 7 islands, we got hailed. I mean hail fell on us and just to include, I got a very funny video of us during the event.

Our 7 islands trip experience

Moving forward, one of the island is full of birds. There are lots of birds that are just chilling in the island. It stinks, it smells like birds! haha. But looking at the birds that are freely flying and resting made the trip worthy.

After visiting the other islands, we stopped in an island for half an hour and let us enjoy the serenity of the place. We got a very nice view of the whole sea with its islands.

The tour is good in other ways. It wasn’t the best sailing trip due to raining hail, but the experience it gives to be able to tour one of France’ island is enough to say that it is worth the trip. It is nice that they protected the bird island. It gives them a chance to fly freely and live.

France: Treguier, Bretagne

After our visit from the Cote de Granit Rose. We went driving around the region and ended up in this little town called Treguier. The place was calm even though there are people walking around and at the same time enjoying the sun. The main attraction of the place was the Cathedrale Saint-Tugdual de Treguier. We entered the said cathedral, it was majestic, big and nice from the inside to the outside. Spent some time and appreciate the beauty of the Cathedral.

France: Perros-Guirec

Ok, so we don’t have any idea what to see in this area. We just took a chance and roam around the place and looked at the net for ideas.

We ended up in Perros-Guirec.

We decided to eat our breakfast at Cafe du Bourg which is also a bar. They have this typical french breakfast which includes croissants, baguette and jam with coffee. This place is just right across Eglise St- Jacques, so eating breakfast was a luxury with this view.

After our breakfast, we decided to walk around the town. The town is charming and have their own styles. It is alive and we literally saw lots of french holding their baguettes. Just be reminded that french have their lunch break that will last at least an hour, this means that their establishments may be closed.

Eglise St. Jacques

We did not have a chance to go inside the said church for there was an important ceremony going on. But seeing it from the outside was enough for me to appreciate the beauty of this church.

Walking around the town, you will see some cute buildings and the smell of bread being baked are very strong. It’s lovely!

From the little town, we decided to walk further and saw the view of the gorgeous sea.

After walking up and down the hill for 2 kilometers, we finally reached the pretty beach that we saw from afar, it’s called Plage de Trestraou. It is a big beach with beautiful sea. It’s a shame that we we’re not able to swim and experience the beach since we visited during the winter season.

Along their boulevard, there are lots of restaurants and places where you can stay and relax. It was not busy during our visit, so we we’re glad that we had the time to appreciate every little details of this little town.

France: Port L’epine, Trelevern

Our next destination: Port L’epine. This is where we booked our chalet with sea view. It’s a camping site.

After spending our day visiting Mont Saint Michel and driving to our next stop, we arrived around 19:00 in Port L’epine. But since we were a bit late than the usual check-in time, we first called the camping to tell them that we are not going to make it on time. They told us that it would not be a problem because someone at their restaurant will still give our keys and allow us to enter the vicinity. We were relieved!

Arriving near where we are going to stay, we had a sneak peek of the wonderful sea. It was amazingly blue. It made us more excited to reach our home for the week.

Not far from where we were, we finally reached our destination, Port L’epine (name of our camping site). We were welcomed by the staff and after taking a quick look at the beautiful surroundings, we went to their restaurant and have our first meal.

Finishing our dinner, we searched for our chalet. we were happy to see that we got what we want, the seaview and the serenity of the place that made us feel that we are ready to settle for our little vacation trip.

Since the chalet is much more accommodated in the summer rather than in the middle of the pre-spring season, we must say that our chalet for a week was a bit chilly. We were glad that we had extra sheets and jackets to protect us from the cold. But we did not much care anymore because we were just grateful for the experience that it has offered.

Staying in a different environment, we prepared ourselves for the coming days. It is very handy to do, most especially if you are not familiar with the place. As we brought the car with us, we did not hesitate to bring enough stuffs to our chalet.

We went extreme, we are not going to be hungry! 😂
