A part of our traveling in France is just go without an itinerary of places that we wanted to visit or go to. Just get in the car and add some destination points in the navigation and enjoy the scenery that will pass through during the road trip.
So we end up at Rue du Port. It is somehow at the edge of the map. Before arriving at the point of our destination, we found some amazing rock formations like the ones we saw at Cote granit de rose. It was closed during our visit, but it seems that it can be a busy in the summer for they have this big parking lots for buses.
We further drove until we ended up in this port, Port de Bugueles. It is small but the view is just breathtaking. It is a typical type of harbor in Bretagne. It is quiet and almost nobody is there. It is like we have our own private harbor. We were just happy to end up in this place.
Driving through the beautiful roads of Brittany, we found a special place where we fell in love with. It is called Cote de Granit Rose. It is known for it’s unusual rock formations. This place was our favorite hangout. We went 2x here within our 7 days stay in Trevelern and spent 2-4 hours.
This location is near our camping site, we did not even knew that this would be possible to visit. We spent the whole afternoon in this region, just walking and enjoying the high cliffs and the beautiful rock formations. Parking is easy and there are several places where you can enter the park. I think it’s best to visit this location is during the sunny days. It could be very cold during winter for it is surrounded by the sea and the wind is kinda stronger than the usual.
What to see here?
Unbelievable pink rock formations.
Beautiful horizon of the blue sea.
Ok, so we don’t have any idea what to see in this area. We just took a chance and roam around the place and looked at the net for ideas.
We ended up in Perros-Guirec.
We decided to eat our breakfast at Cafe du Bourg which is also a bar. They have this typical french breakfast which includes croissants, baguette and jam with coffee. This place is just right across Eglise St- Jacques, so eating breakfast was a luxury with this view.
After our breakfast, we decided to walk around the town. The town is charming and have their own styles. It is alive and we literally saw lots of french holding their baguettes. Just be reminded that french have their lunch break that will last at least an hour, this means that their establishments may be closed.
Eglise St. Jacques
We did not have a chance to go inside the said church for there was an important ceremony going on. But seeing it from the outside was enough for me to appreciate the beauty of this church.
Walking around the town, you will see some cute buildings and the smell of bread being baked are very strong. It’s lovely!
From the little town, we decided to walk further and saw the view of the gorgeous sea.
On the way we saw some unique buildings.
Palais des Congres
After walking up and down the hill for 2 kilometers, we finally reached the pretty beach that we saw from afar, it’s called Plage de Trestraou. It is a big beach with beautiful sea. It’s a shame that we we’re not able to swim and experience the beach since we visited during the winter season.
Plage de Trestraou
Along their boulevard, there are lots of restaurants and places where you can stay and relax. It was not busy during our visit, so we we’re glad that we had the time to appreciate every little details of this little town.
Our next destination: Port L’epine. This is where we booked our chalet with sea view. It’s a camping site.
After spending our day visiting Mont Saint Michel and driving to our next stop, we arrived around 19:00 in Port L’epine. But since we were a bit late than the usual check-in time, we first called the camping to tell them that we are not going to make it on time. They told us that it would not be a problem because someone at their restaurant will still give our keys and allow us to enter the vicinity. We were relieved!
Arriving near where we are going to stay, we had a sneak peek of the wonderful sea. It was amazingly blue. It made us more excited to reach our home for the week.
Not far from where we were, we finally reached our destination, Port L’epine (name of our camping site). We were welcomed by the staff and after taking a quick look at the beautiful surroundings, we went to their restaurant and have our first meal.
Finishing our dinner, we searched for our chalet. we were happy to see that we got what we want, the seaview and the serenity of the place that made us feel that we are ready to settle for our little vacation trip.
Since the chalet is much more accommodated in the summer rather than in the middle of the pre-spring season, we must say that our chalet for a week was a bit chilly. We were glad that we had extra sheets and jackets to protect us from the cold. But we did not much care anymore because we were just grateful for the experience that it has offered.
Staying in a different environment, we prepared ourselves for the coming days. It is very handy to do, most especially if you are not familiar with the place. As we brought the car with us, we did not hesitate to bring enough stuffs to our chalet.
We went extreme, we are not going to be hungry! 😂
